"IT'S NOT ABOUT EAST OR WEST. IT'S ABOUT NIGGAS AND BYTCHEZ, POWER AND MONEY, RIDAHZ AND PUNKZ. WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?"

Lesane Parish Crooks was Tupac's birth name untill his mom changed it to Tupac Amaru Shakur. Tupac Amaru wich means "shining serpent" and Shakur means "thankful to god". Tupac studied drama at Baltimore's School For The Arts, where he rapped under the name MC New York. Tupac was first inspired to rap when a friend of his was killed while he was playing with a gun (it was probably Kato, the guy he always mentions in his songs). His first rap was about gun control. When 2pac first moved to Cali he was homeless for 2 years. Tupac joined the Rap group Digital Underground as a dancer. Not long before the group achieved award winning success, Tupac released his own album "2Pacalypse Now", which was also a success. The hit single "Brenda's Got A Baby" launched Tupac's career like a rocket. Tupac eventually released a second album "Strictly for my N.I.G.G.A.Z.," which was an even bigger success and introduced Tupac's music onto the pop charts. Tupac's career went into the movie buisness wich he appeared in many movies. He appeared in "Gridlock'd", "Bullet", "Gang Related", "Poetic Justice" and "Above the Rim".

While on his way to do charity work, Tupac Shakur was shot by unknown gunmen and died on September 13, 1996.
